Hi, I'm Paige!

I am recent graduate of The Ohio State University and am licensed to teach Pre-K through 5th. I completed my year-long student teaching placement in the South-Western City School District at J.C. Sommer Elementary School in a third grade classroom. During my time as a student teacher, I planned lessons aligned with The Ohio Learning Standards in math, reading, writing, word study, science, and social studies. I also managed student behavior using a school-wide program, like earning snowballs in the winter months and butterflies and flowers in the spring, and took over whole-group and small-group instruction under the guidance of my mentor educator. I enjoy every minute spent in the classroom and have spent the last year growing in my teaching skills, behavior management, and learning all I can from other educators.

I am currently employed by Grove City Parks and Recreation, and have been since August 2018, as a PARK Leader. In this role I provide before and after school care and summer care to students in grades K-6. This program has provided me with the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with students, professional relationships with colleagues, and positive relationships with families. Most recently, I am also employed by SWCSD as a substitute teacher. My time as a substitute has been short, but nonetheless meaningful. I have been following lesson plans laid out by classroom teachers, managing behavior in a classroom setting, and working with other staff in the building to ensure students have a successful day.

I am an educator who is eager to join the teaching profession and to continue my journey as a teacher. I am driven to help all students reach their full potential and to be a part of a school community who supports one another. Thank you for taking the time to view and consider my teaching portfolio and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Paige Justus
